Diary

One entry a day, moods, Markdown and tags.

Writing an entry

The Diary section holds one entry per day, with a title and a body.

The editor has an edit and preview switch in the top bar. The full formatting is visible when you open the entry.

The list shows a plain-text preview on a single line, so formatting does not appear there.

Moods

You can attach a mood to each day. There are twelve, plus No mood as the first page of the carousel:

  • Amazing, Happy, Good, Calm
  • Neutral, Tired, Bored, Anxious
  • Sad, Angry, Stressed, Sick

You can set it from the quick picker under today’s card and from the home screen, without opening the entry.

The artwork is your choice: Classic emoji or Aurora, the mascot.

Settings → App → Behaviour → Interface → Diary faces

Moods and diary entries cannot be recorded on future days.

Markdown formatting

Markdown works in the body of an entry. It does not apply to the title, nor to the preview in the list.

Supported: bold, italic, headings with # and ##, bulleted and numbered lists, quotes and links. Links open in your external browser.

The app has a syntax reminder, Markdown formatting, inside the editor.

Tags

Tags are not written inside the text. They are a separate field in the editor, below the body, with the same picker used by habits.

They are the same tags: one set shared between habits and diary entries.

You can filter the diary by tag.

Locking the diary

The diary can be protected on its own, without locking the whole app. See App lock for how the setting works.

When the diary is locked, the protection also covers the Diary view inside the Calendar.
